Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership
It started life as a single poster to promote the Lion Salt Works in Northwich, but it has now grown to include posters for Knutsford, Manchester and Stockport.
Our vintage rail posters are causing quite a stir, and there is talk of the project growing further to include other stations on the Mid Cheshire Line.
The aim of the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnerships is to generate a full set of posters that can also be reproduced as a limited edition set of postcards.
Illustrated by Nicky Thompson, the artwork is richly influenced by the iconic English Tourism Posters of the early 20th Century.
Nicky said: ‘This is a lovely ongoing project, I have really enjoyed the process. Each artwork starts life as a pencil sketch and is then transferred to the Mac and worked up gradually using layers until the desired effect is reached’.
